Sir Stirling Moss, a British racing legend so great in fact, McLaren decided to name one of there cars after him the mouth watering, Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss. There is currently one for sale at a huge £690,000 price tag at specialist car dealer Nash Konig Performance and Prestige Vehicles.
This machine produces 641BHP as a result it will get from 0-60MPH in a mind blowing 3.5 seconds and carry on going until it reaches a top speed of 217MPH. The car certainly is mind blowing as it doesn’t appear to have a windscreen. Just imagine hurtling along a country road flies hitting your face faster than you can blink and best of all hearing that 5.4-litre supercharged V8 soundtrack. SLR Stirling Moss won’t be a dog around corners due to the whole body being made out of carbon fibre plus, with them enormous tyres expect to get shed loads of grip.
If you really really want to own one of these beasts you’ll have to pull out, wait wait, ready, £690,000. By the time you’ve won the lottery to buy one they will be a rarity on your local autotrader as only 75 will be built. If you are one of the very lucky people to own one expect, high prices for anything done to the car for example, servicing, tyres etc.
£690,000 is a lot of dough for a car without a roof but, I can guarantee this motor will be a future classic and will shoot up in value over the years. Most people who buy these kinds of cars keep them part of a collection and there is no exception for the SLR Stirling Moss so, it will have an easy life.
So, what do I think of the Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss. I’ve got to admit it isn’t the sexiest car around on the other hand; it is one of the most unique cars around. The looks wouldn’t really matter that much once you’re on the move because; you’ll soon forget the styling and put your attention towards that V8 up ahead under that long nose.
Only if money grew on trees!
good post!
Although the Mclaren does have a colossal price tag, I think its somewhat doomed in terms of practicality.
I mean, think about the type of person that will actually be able to afford such a machine. Someone with more money than sense, and someone who has literally no spare time to go gallivating around the countryside in a supercar.
So the car will face the same doom of most modern hypercars. It’ll be brought, cleaned, and stuck in a garage under a dust sheet, only used for track days once every year or so. And for a machine with as much power and potential as the SLR, that really is a great shame.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you. These cars won’t see daylight many times but, when they do won’t it put a big cheesy smile on the owners face.
After your bit about the person will have no spare time, I guess this car will be bought by billionaires and a certain name comes to my mind, Roman Abramovich. It will probably put into his collection of many expensive, and exotic machines.
